After Independence in the 1960s, all the newly established town halls and their various municipal departments were housed in scattered and unsuited buildings. Our competition entry combined all departments and functions in a linear building with civic proportions, reinforcing the importance of public pride towards the borough of Ayios Dometios, which is divided and partly occupied by Turkey. The Municipality ran out of funds and no winners were announced
