Olympic Indoor Swimming Pool, Larnaca, 1993 (Second Prize)

This is a competition entry for an indoor olympic athletics stadium and an outdoor olympic size pool for the municipal needs of the town of Larnaca. The new building is part of a larger athletics complex within the grounds of the stadium. The concrete, steel and timber structure provides unobstructed views to the  arenas. Laminated structural timber beams and lightweight composite materials cover the roof of the stadium. Foyer, VIP and press areas are directly accessed by the parking area. Large glazed facades give natural light and the feeling of being outdoors.
