San Marzano is a franchise chain of pizza/pasta restaurants. This 2 storey existing building lacked outdoor space for summer dining and a third floor was added together with service and public lifts linking it to the other floors. The fully glazed roof mechanically opens converting the top floor into an outdoor roof garden. The existing concrete structure was reinforced to meet present earthquake regulations with steel decking and I beam sections.
