COMPETITION ENTRY - AWARDED CONTRACT

This competition entry proposes the construction of the Coop Bank (SPE) in Geroskipou, located in the Paphos district on a 2200 sq.m. site. The new development is designed to accommodate the bank’s offices, as well as shops and office spaces. During the construction of the new building, the existing warehouse on the site will temporarily house the bank’s operations. Upon completion, the warehouse will be repurposed as a cultural centre, serving both the bank and the community of Geroskipou for future activities and events.
The building's design features an aluminium louvred 'skin', which wraps the structure, providing solar shading on both the east and west elevations. This louvred façade helps to reduce heat gain, improve energy efficiency, and create a striking architectural expression while responding to the site's environmental context.
The approach combines functional spaces with a community-centred design, ensuring that the development serves both the bank’s needs and the wider local community.
