This 600 sqm. seafront seafood restaurant, located in the Amathus Beach Resort in Limassol Bay, was designed with the goal of maximizing the potential of its prime location while ensuring an efficient layout for both customer experience and the operational needs of the restaurant.
The challenge was to create a comfortable outdoor dining area while also accommodating the high demand of guests from the Amathus Hotel during the busy summer season.
The design focused on integrating subtle level changes that helped to create a more private and intimate dining experience for guests, despite the restaurant's location along the busy public waterfront. Inspired by marine architecture, the space is defined by a timber feature wall running along the length of the site, adjacent to the sea.
This wall serves as a boundary, housing all the back-of-house areas, including kitchens, food storage rooms, staff rooms, and toilets, effectively separating the operational areas from the guest spaces while maintaining a seamless flow.
The dining area is protected by bespoke tensile PVC fabric canopies, which are supported by steel arm-like columns. These columns are angled to work with the sun path, providing solar shading and creating a cool and comfortable atmosphere for diners.
This thoughtful design ensures that the restaurant maximizes its waterfront views while offering a pleasant and private dining environment for guests.
