HOSPITALITY

This small café is part of the larger vision for Columbia Plaza, located in the heart of Limassol, and is an integral piece of a broader collection of restaurants, clubs, and bistros that share the vibrant piazza. The design of the café aims to capture the essence of spontaneity and freshness, drawing inspiration from the bustling energy of a quick espresso and a light bite.

At its core, the café is defined by an industrial open kitchen, a focal point that allows patrons to engage with the process of food preparation, reinforcing a sense of authenticity and transparency. Oversized light fixtures are strategically placed to enhance the dynamic atmosphere, casting playful shadows and adding a sculptural element to the space. The interplay of industrial materials with sleek, contemporary finishes creates a space that is both raw and refined, vibrant yet composed.

The architectural composition of the café is carefully structured within an 8m x 8m double-height volume, maximizing both functionality and openness. After accounting for service and back-of-house areas, a 5m x 5m x 5m cube remains at the heart of the design—an unencumbered, immersive space where patrons can fully experience the interplay of height, light, and movement. This spatial clarity enhances the perception of openness, making the café feel expansive despite its compact footprint.

The layout is intentionally fluid, fostering a strong connection between the interior and the surrounding urban fabric. The café’s engagement with the bustling piazza transforms it into an inviting social hub—where people gather, interact, and experience the lively rhythm of the city. By embracing transparency, volume, and thoughtful materiality, the café becomes more than just a place to grab a coffee—it stands as a refined yet energetic destination within Columbia Plaza.
