The All Saints Chapel, situated on the grounds of the Columbia Beach Resort, is a special project that combines tradition, architecture, and art in a unique way. As part of the client’s brief, the chapel was designed to be a small, traditional structure by the sea, offering visitors a meaningful and serene experience. What makes this chapel exceptional is the collaboration with the late John Corbidge, a world-renowned artist and friend. Together, we transformed this chapel into a work of art, blurring the boundaries between religion, architecture, and art itself.
The chapel’s design takes a modern approach to iconography, introducing fine art and spiritual colour to elevate the visitor’s experience. The use of vibrant, spiritual art redefines the role of the chapel as both a place of worship and a space of visual wonder. As visitors enter from the beach lawn, they are welcomed into a space of calmness, enveloped in colour and a sense of peace that transcends the traditional chapel experience.
The final work is a new dimension in iconography, an explosion of colour. ''O Lord how much blue you use so that we cannot see you'' - Odysseas Elytis
