Situated on a prominent corner within a prime suburban neighbourhood, the design emphasizes the building’s multiple frontages, creating an engaging experience that interacts with the streetscape on two sides.
The brief called for a home that meets the needs of a young family, with a thoughtful approach to budget while incorporating spaces for the parents' home office, a gymnastics studio for the three children, and dedicated entertainment areas for hosting guests.

The sloping road around the corner of the site provided an opportunity to position the basement and garage entrance on the lower portion of the plot, discreetly hidden from the main entrance elevation, which faces the upper north road.
The ground floor is slightly elevated from the street level to enhance privacy, with minimal openings incorporated into the three dimensional concrete structure, ensuring a sense of privacy and control over views.

The main entrance is subtly located behind a flank concrete wall, accessed via a gradual ramp leading from the front garden. Upon entry, the space unfolds into a linear open-plan layout, with the kitchen positioned on the east side to capture the morning sunlight, and the living areas oriented to the west. These living spaces benefit from a double aspect, with floor-to-ceiling glazing on both sides that open up to the entrance garden and pool veranda.

Linear cut-out openings near the glazing allow natural daylight to penetrate the basement level below, while also serving as lighting features in the evening, providing soft, ambient lighting that enhances the interior atmosphere.

The pool is located on the south side, aligned with the living areas, creating a seamless flow between the interior and exterior, which effectively expands the entertainment space. It also serves as a natural cooling element, with the westerly breeze passing over the water and into the living rooms, providing passive cooling during the summer months.

Lightweight steel pergolas are carefully positioned along the property boundaries, offering both privacy from the neighbours and additional shade, further enhancing the comfort and functionality of the outdoor spaces.
